Your Logo Introduction The hour God’s judgment in this context could also be call “The Day of The Lord” – 2 Peter 3:10; 1 Thessalonians 5:2. It is a day of God’s indignation, when He executes judgment on a set of people, nation or the world at large. When prophet Zephaniah warn His people of “the day of the Lord” he describe it as a terrible day – Zephaniah 1:14-15. Unfortunately, many person or some school of thoughts are of the

Your Logo opinion that the prospect of humanity being subjected to any judgment and punishment by God is a fiction, a mere religious postulation to frighten or encourage humans to do good. NATURE OF GOD The nature of God’s characteristic involves divine opposite. God is love - 1 John 4:8. The same God who is love, is also the God of wrath – 2 Thessalonians 1:6-10. As merciful as He is, He is also a consuming fire – Hebrews 12:29.

Your Logo The bible speaks of His goodness and severity – Romans 11:22. His holiness and perfect justice demanded that sin must attract punishment. However, His loving aspect provide conditions for forgiveness because He has no pleasure in the death of a sinner. Moreover, He is not incline to bring quick punishment on those who sin against Him because He is slow to anger, but eventually if His patient is exhausted, what happens? He pours His wrath on those deserves destruction.

Your Logo WARNING We shall look into some of God’s prophetic warnings by the mouth of His prophets before the execution of His judgment. Bible prophecies are like announcement or declarations. Before the destruction of the first world, God’s servant Noah warned the people of the impending destruction but they paid no attention until the flood overtook them – Genesis 6:7. When God was dealing solely with ancient Israel, they often suffer calamities as a result of

Your Logo their stubbornness and refusal to pay attention and heed God’s warning. Let us consider Jeremiah’s prophetic warnings – Jeremiah 20:4-5. If they had repented and forsaken their evil ways, God would have spared them. Ignoring God’s warning, they fulfilled His word – 2 Chronicles 36:19-21. So Jerusalem was destroyed and the people carried away captives to Babylon. Consider the fall of Babylon Empire – Isaiah 13:15-19.

Your Logo The Babylonians have a well organized, powerful combat ready army, they trust in their gods, their cities are well fortified yet in one night great Babylon fell to Medes and Persians – Daniel 5:23 – 31, because of the unrepentant attitude of the Jews, Jerusalem suffered another devastation. Before the coming of Christ, Daniel foretold it. On one occasion, Jesus also drew His disciples’ attention to Daniel’s prophetic warning of Jerusalem desolation – Matthew 24:15.

Your Logo The historians confirmed the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD and the temple of God was completely destruction according to Christ prediction in Matthew 24:2. The declaration of God must come to pass – Isaiah 55:11. The day of the Lord was to come upon Nineveh but the king and the people paid attention to the prophet words of warning – Jonah 3:4-10. God who never tell lies always act according to His promise – Jeremiah 18:7-8.

We are going to consider prophecies that involve us in this present time “call the last days” as predicted by Jesus Christ. False Prophets – Matthew 24:11 Nation rising against nations – Matthew 24:7 Kingdom against kingdom - Matthew 24:7 Earthquakes in diverse places - Matthew 24:7 Famine - Matthew 24:7 Terrible diseases - Matthew 24:7

Your Logo Hatred and violence - Matthew 24:12 Perilous times – 2 Timothy 3:1-5 Ahead of us is God’s declaration which should be of paramount concern to all of us – Acts 17:30-31, 2 Corinthians 5:10, Hebrews 9:27, Revelation 20:12-15. Remember the angel advice “Fear God and give Him the glory”. We should not be so wrapped up in the affairs of daily and forget who we are and where we are going.
