1
Solar power is a renewable energy that uses sunligth to generate electricity.
2
Applications There are two applications: Photovoltaics, convert sunlight directly into electricity. Concentrating solar power convert sunlight indirectly into electricity.
3
Solar power has great potential, but not used enough. However, use has been doubling every two, or less years.
4
CSP Concentrating Solar Power use systems to concentrate a large area of sunlight into a small beam. The concentrated heat is then used for a conventional power plant.
5
Photovoltaics That application uses the photovoltaic effect. It’s based on the theory that some electrons when hit with light it produces electricity. The first important application of solar cells was a back-up power sourse to the Vanguard I satellite, which it’s continue transmitting for over a year after its chemical battery was exhausted. This application was duplicated in many other satellites.
6
Solar Power in Spain Spain is a country where there are many areas which have good sunlight all year. Spain's government pledged to reach 12% renewable energy use for 2010. Spain is the fourth largest manufacturer in the world of solar power.
7
In conclusion I think solar power will be in the coming years the most used energy as never end. Maria Vilà
