A) If a collimator is ordered it would be good to make a custom accessory.
3
Last week simulations/calculus with Zemax showed that this approach has a high tolerance in linear distance. ◦ Limits: 4.5 mm distance to disk, diffraction, aligment angle.
4
A) If a collimator is ordered it would be good to make a custom accessory. ◦ This week I still gathering information to improve this approach
5
Spherical aberration: ◦ I said that the focal distances in the simulations doesn’t fit the specifications. ◦ I made a mistake, It was spherical aberration. ◦ Typical in Plano/Convex lenses (Our theoric Accu-Glass colimator)
6
Spherical aberration: ◦ Possible solutions: Meeting with Aurelie (how to quantify the aberration and improve my knowledge of the program) Achromat Douplets Contact with Edmund Optics: No possible achromats, not vacuum compatible and temperature too high, but yes Aspheric lens. Achromatic LensAspheric lens
7
Spherical aberration: ◦ Possible solutions: Spherical lens vs Aspherical lens Diam: 25mm Focal Dist: 25mm Data according to Edmund Optics (Very small spot size!) Our spot Size limit is <100um
8
Splitters and Circulators: ◦ It’s possible to use Splitters for our application, but they are not the optimal solution. Circulator Splitter
9
Performance comparation between splitter options and circulator.
