2. EARLIER WORK Two asterisk servers Signaling Protocol : SIP and IAX Codecs : G.711 and GSM Vyatta Router used Sip.conf, Iax.conf and extensions.conf.call files for 30 calls in asterisk server 1 Packet analyzer: Wireshark. Theoretical and practical were compared

3. REPEATABILITY  How can we repeat using SUNYIT infrastructure????????  Two asterisk server within same network in VM’s  Digium Hardphones  Configuration files : sip.conf, iax.conf,extensions.conf .call files for 10 calls in asterisk server 1

EXTENDABILITY  Signaling Protocols: SIP AND IAX  Codec used : G. 726 and iLBC  SIP and IAX trunking is done  Dialplan is configured so that two asterisk servers can communicate  call from 2 hardphones to calculate per call bandwidth.  “.call” files for 10 calls will be configured to generate 10 calls simultaneously.

5. EXTENDABILITY CONT.….  Packet Analyzer: TCP dump will be used to capture packets  Captured packets will be analyzed in Wireshark.  Per call bandwidth is analyzed  Bandwidth for 10 calls is analyzed  Theoretical bandwidth values will be calculated using online tools  Practical values obtained by experiment will be compared.

6. USE OF THIS PROJECT Understanding different options in terms of Signaling protocols used. Understanding the functionality of the codec used. This work will help to refer for capacity planning while creating a new VoIP network
