3. God created all the spirits
In the beginning, God created the spirit beings

All were created
God gave them life

God is greater than the spirits
Lived before them eternally
Gave them life
Don’t have bodies
Can move about where they want
Not everywhere at the same time
Sometimes show themselves
3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.
Col. 1:16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.
Gen. 19:1 Now the two angels came to Sodom in the evening, and Lot was sitting in the gate of Sodom. When Lot saw them, he rose to meet them, and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground.

4. Spirits were created to serve God
Heb. 1:14
Why did God create the spirits?
In beginning, all were angels
Angel means “servant” or “messenger”
God created them, so belonged to Him
Created to do what God wanted them to do
14Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?

5. Spirits were created perfect by God
Ezekiel 28:15
All were created perfect, none were evil
Everything God says and does is perfect
God never has and never will sin
15You were perfect in your ways from the day you were created,         Till iniquity was found in you.

6. Spirits were created with great wisdom and strength
Psalm 103:20
Angels are intelligent
But not all-knowing like God
Angels are stronger than we
But not all-powerful like God
God is wiser and stronger than all spirits
Bless the LORD, you His angels,        Who excel in strength, who do His word,        Heeding the voice of His word.

7. Spirits are innumerable
Impossible for us to count the spirits
Rev. 5:11
How could God create so many good, strong, wise spirits
He is almighty
11Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne, the living creatures, and the elders; and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands,

8. Spirits lived in Heaven
All spirits lived in Heaven with God in the beginning
Where is Heaven?

9. Lucifer was before God in Heaven
Some angels created more beautiful, intelligent, wise than others

God gave Lucifer important position in Heaven
Had authority over other angels
Created perfect, like other angels

15You were perfect in your ways from the day you were created,        Till iniquity was found in you.

10. Lucifer’s rebellion Lucifer should have loved, obeyed, served God

Wanted to be like “most High”
Rebelled against God
First created being to do evil
How could a perfectly-created being rebel?
God allows choice
Angels are not like robots
Isaiah 14:
13For you have said in your heart:        "I will ascend into heaven,        I will exalt my throne above the stars of God;        I will also sit on the mount of the congregation        On the farthest sides of the north;        14I will ascend above the heights of the clouds,        I will be like the Most High.'

11. Other angels rebelled with Lucifer
Many angels followed Lucifer, their leader
Rebelled against God too

12. God knew about their plans
Isaiah 14:13-14
“you have said in your heart…”
Created them, knew their inmost thoughts
Nothing can be kept secret from God
Isaiah 14 13For you have said in your heart:         "I will ascend into heaven,         I will exalt my throne above the stars of God;         I will also sit on the mount of the congregation         On the farthest sides of the north;         14I will ascend above the heights of the clouds,         I will be like the Most High.'

13. God removed Lucifer Lucifer lost his position
No longer God’s servant
Compare to national rebellion
Would our president allow it?
God would not allow Lucifer to take His position

14. God prepared place of punishment
Lake of Fire

God will send Lucifer and his angels there

Satan means “enemy, adversary, opponent”

Demons help oppose God

16. Where are they now? Satan and his demons no longer live in Heaven
