6. John 14:15-18-“If you love me, you will obey what I command. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with

7. you forever--the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know

8. him, for he lives with you and will be in you. I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.”

9. 2 Corinthians 13:14- “The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the partnership of the Holy Spirit be with you all.”

10. I. THE PURPOSE OF OUR PARTNERSHIP WITH THE SPIRIT

11. A. The work of the Spirit in this partnership is to change us into the image of Jesus.

12. Galatians 5:22-23- “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.”

13. B. The work of the Spirit in this partnership is to provide us with everything we need to do the work that God has assigned to us.

14. Matthew 28:18-20- “Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.

15. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them

16. to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

17. II. THE SPIRIT AND YOU BOTH HAVE ROLES TO FULFILL.

18. A. OUR PART- 1. We are to depend fully on Him. 2. We are to trust in Him fully for guidance and strength.

19. 3. We are to yield to Him so that He may remove sin from our life. 4. We are to yield to Him so that He can radiate the beauty of Jesus in our every word and action.

20. 5. We are to work with Him to glorify Christ in our world by completing the work that He started when He was on earth.

21. 6. We do these things by praying on a regular basis so that we will have opportunity to come into His presence and allow Him to work in our lives.

22. 7. We do these things by reading the Word of God and asking the Spirit to teach us what we need for the day in order to live a life that glorifies Jesus Christ!

23. B. HIS PART: 1. He will be our partner who is always there to help us in any situation.

24. 2. He will reveal the wisdom of God to us so we can understand about Him, about us and about our world. We can learn the divine outlook on all of life.

25. 3. He will reveal the will of God to us so that we can know exactly what the purpose of our life is! 4. He will reveal the ways of God to us.

26. 5. He is ready and able to do all of these.
