What is WIPO IP-DMD ? an online tool for matching specific IP related development needs with resources offered by potential donors.

Assisting Member States IP-DMD created in response to Member States and their increasing Intellectual Property needs. Expand the scope of WIPO’s technical assistance for Developing and Least Developed Countries (LDCs)

Access to IP-DMD platform Who has access? Any interested users of the IP-DMD platform (beneficiaries or donors) To ensure optimal efficiency of coordination, Non Governmental Organizations (NGOs) or Private individuals in developing countries should channel requests through their IP office or other relevant government entity. Expression of interest IP-DMD enables users to share IP Development related partnership ideas through an expression of interest’s option DEMAND: Developing countries and Least Developed Countries (LDCs) with specific IP-related needs can submit their requests, OFFER: Partners interested in providing funding, expertise or other IP-related assistance for IP-related can also use this mechanism to formally offer their resources. Looking for potential partners Following an internal screening and approval of incoming of Expression of Interest, these expressions are posted on the IP-DMD platform, and Interested users (beneficiaries and donors) can search the database for partnering opportunities in - a particular region/country, or - specific field of technology/IP.

Ensuring Success WIPO assists by assessing ideas and matching them into viable projects that benefit developing countries and LDCs. Successfully completed projects initiated through IP-DMD platform will be reported on its website to show how innovative ideas can become reality. IP-DMD Search

National Meeting in FORTEC – Curitiba Local Systems of Innovation and Organizational Innovation Policies WIPO’s IP-DMD platform can post offer and demand related to local systems of innovation to identify potential donors / partners / beneficiaries to realize the specific projects. http://www.wipo.int/dmd All Member States & relevant IP stakeholders will be immediately informed once a project is posted on the IP-DMD platform.
