Collaborative Tools u Provide a consistent collaborative environment to the CERN users u Including messaging, calendaring and videoconferencing u Consisting of both server and client-side services. u Electronic Mail u Around 20 servers u 14,000 accounts u Towards 1 million mails / day, > 80 % spam u More than 3,000 mailing lists u Videoconferencing u 7 VC rooms operational, 2 more in project u 1,300 registered videoconferences in 2002 720 in first half 2003 http://cern.ch/mmm

Web Services u Provide a consistent web hosting and authoring environment to the CERN users u About 30 Servers: u ~ 6000 Sites. ~ 1.200.000 HTTP requests/day u 24x7 Service operation u Current offering u Windows/IIS and Linux/Apache hosts u Web storage “on the server” or on DFS / AFS u Support Perl, ASP, PHP scripting for web applications u Redirection / Relocation services u Intranet Search Engine Service (Inktomi) May 2003Nov 2003 Sites~ 5500~ 6000 Hits / Day~ 1.000.000~ 1.270.000 http://cern.ch/web

Windows Services u Provide a consistent desktop environment to CERN users u Directories, file and home directories storage u Standardized desktop computing environment u A core set of application software u Windows Server infrastructure u ~ 130 servers u ~ 16 TB of disk space, 30 TB raw disks u Used also for Web and Mail services u Windows Desktop Management u ~ 10000 User Accounts, 23000 Contacts, 1700 Groups u ~ 7800 Computer accounts in the domain u ~ 5500 Managed desktops (2000 and XP) u 24x7 Service operation http://cern.ch/win
