4 4 Main theme Five Success criteria The production of the five success criteria should be regarded as the most important result of the network Empowerment Strenghten social relations Structural changes of schools Co-operation with local society Renewing the view on knowledge

5 5 1 Empowerment Practices should strengthen the ability of young people to act themselves, to think independently and to stand up for their rights

6 6 Main theme 2 Strengthen social relations Social relations need to be strengthened in order to favour learning and the social inclusion of young people

7 7 Main theme 3 Structural changes of schools Structural changes of schools should tackle the structural causes of exclusion in order to prevent pupils from opting out.

8 8 Main theme 4 Co-operation with local society Barriers of different kinds appear as a border between the social exclusion of society taking place in cities, particularly in schools

9 9 Main theme 5 Renewing the view on knowledge A new view of knowledge emphasis creative relationship to knowledge, enabling young people to solve problems criticise and take stands. This is a path to learning for sustainability.
