3 3 Big Ben is the nickname for the great bell of the clock at the north-eastern end of the Palace of Westminster in London, and is often used to refer to the clock or the clock tower as well. The bells of the Great Clock of Westminster rang across London for the first time on 31st May 1859. It celebrated its 150th anniversary in May 2009.

4 4 The tower is 96.3 metres high. The four clock faces are 55 metres above ground. Big Ben is the largest four-faced chiming clock. The four dials of the clock are 23 feet square, the minute hand is 14 feet long and the numbers are 2 feet high. Big Ben is an excellent timekeeper, which has rarely stopped.
