1 Warm Up: 9/18/2014  Take the first five minutes of class to study for your vocabulary quiz.  Make sure your name is on the front or inside cover of your writing journal. Be prepared to turn them in!

2 Quiz Expectations:  The following actions will result in an immediate zero:  Talking  Using an electronic device  Looking at a neighbor’s paper  Being found with any paper out or under your desk

3 Night Think-Pair-Share: 4 min.  What was your reaction as a reader when Elie’s family was evacuated from the ghetto and moved into the cattle cars? What images from these two chapters stand out most vividly to you?  What do you make of Mrs. Schachter’s vision of the fire? What effect did this have on you as a reader? Why do you think Wiesel chose to include this in the novel?
