Night Think-Pair-Share: 4 min. What was your reaction as a reader when Elie’s family was evacuated from the ghetto and moved into the cattle cars? What images from these two chapters stand out most vividly to you? What do you make of Mrs. Schachter’s vision of the fire? What effect did this have on you as a reader? Why do you think Wiesel chose to include this in the novel?
