2. Where Is Canada? Canada is in North America. It is surrounded by the United States and Greenland. The Pacific, Atlantic, and Arctic Oceans surround Canada.

3. Canada Canada is located north of the United States and south of the Arctic Ocean, Beaufort Sea, and Baffin Bay.

4. Canada’s National Languages English: Hello, my name is Megan. French: Bonjour, je m’appelle Megan.

Customs 1.”New Shoes On Budget Day”- An unusual tradition for the Canadian Minister of Finance, who gets a new pair of shoes. 2.”Speech From The Throne.”- When a representative reads a prepared speech. 3.”The Calling Of An Engineer.”-A ritual for students about to graduate from an engineering program from a university in Canada.

6. Historical Events! On July 1,1867 Canada became a country. In 1867, Sir John A. MacDonald became the first prime minister of Canada. February 23 rd, 1909- Canada’s first airplane took flight.

7. Canada’s Flag The symbol in the middle of the Canadian Flag is the Maple leaf. The French refer to the flag as “the Maple Leaf” or “l'Unifolié,“ which means “the one-leafed” in French. The leaf symbolizes nature and the environment in Canada. The flag’s two colors – red and white – have been the official colors of Canada since King George V established them in 1921.

8. Canada Resources Canada has mineral resources of coal, copper ore, iron ore, gold, nickel, zinc, petroleum, and asbestos. Water, oil, natural gas, molybdenum, gypsum, and graphite are also abundant. The natural food resource is fish. The agricultural resources are wheat, flax, beef, pork, and maple syrup. Canada especially uses nickel, gold, molybdenum, copper, gypsum, graphite, and water.

9. Canada’s Tourist Attractions Quebec Ice Hotel - Each year the hotel is carved entirely out of ice. They even have ice chandeliers. The season for the hotel is January-April. Spherical Tree House - The “spherical tree houses” are pods that hang from trees. They are located on Vancouver Island. They also sell supplies to build your own sphere. Niagara Falls – This is located in Ontario, Canada. 20% of Earth’s freshwater is in the Great Lakes (Huron, Ontario, Michigan, Erie, and Superior) – most of this water flows over the Falls. Niagara Falls is the international border between Canada and the US.
