Types of computer
2
Supercomputer: A supercomputer is a computer that performs at or near the currently highest operational rate for computers. A supercomputer is typically used for scientific and engineering applications. At any given time, there are usually a few well-publicized supercomputers that operate at extremely high speeds. Often they have specific hardware to handle large amounts of floating point operations or vector operations.
3
Mainframe: A very large and expensive computer capable of supporting hundreds, or even thousands, of users simultaneously. Mainframes are more powerful than supercomputers because they support more simultaneous programs. But supercomputers can execute a single program faster than a mainframe. This type of computer monolith can carry environmental and other support requirements.
4
Server: A computer and storage device dedicated to storing files. Any user on the network can store files on the server. Servers are often dedicated. They perform no other tasks besides their server tasks.
5
LAPTOP: Anportable computer, usually battery-powered, small enough to rest on the user's lap and having a screen that closes over the keyboard like a lid. Some laptops are very powerful. Laptop computers have an L-shape design and the screen can be lowered and closed to allow for easy transportation of the machine. A laptop is a type of personal computer that stands out for its mobility.
6
DESKTOP: A desktop computer is a computer that is designed to stay in a single location. Desktop computers cannot be powered from an internal battery and therefore must remain connected to a wall outlet. In the early age of computers, desktop computers were the only personal computers available. opposed to a laptop whose rechargeable battery and compact dimensions allow it to be regularly carried and used in different locations.
7
Mobile devices: A mobile device is a handheld tablet or other device that is made for portability, and is therefore both compact and lightweight. Processing and display technologies have allowed these small devices to do nearly anything that had previously been traditionally done with larger personal computers. And they have new data storage. a mobile device can be defined by three distinct characteristics that set it apart from devices that may appear similar, but lack some characteristics of true mobile devices.
