Black History Month Black History Month, also known as African- American History Month in America, is an annual observance in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom to celebrate the achievements and contributions of African- Americans. Black History Month first began in the 1920s. Since then, February has been designated as Black History Month by every U.S. president since 1976.

and Inventors Research Project The purpose of this research project is to honor African American chemists, biologists, inventors, engineers and mathematicians that have contributed to the advancement of science and technology.

You can work with a partner or individually.
You will choose an African-American Scientist or Inventor. You will write the “autobiography” of the scientist or inventor selected.

Name of Scientist/Inventor Date and place of birth Family life and Education pts. Contribution of the Scientist/Inventor to Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (in your own words) pts. How have the contribution of the scientist/inventor affected or impacted the STEM fields and society pts. Presence of pictures/illustrations. References listed pts. Product (hard copy) presentable and legible. Correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation. 4 pts. Total of 20 pts. Find sources from the internet, as well as books, journals, or magazines.
