Camp C-Woo is a recreational and educational program offered by Central Washington University's Recreation Program for children ages 7-11. The camp's primary function is ACTIVITY and FUN!

Playing games in the Recreation Center Doing fun physical activities daily to improve balance, strength, endurance, speed, agility and flexibility Climbing on the indoor wall in the Recreation Center Creating Arts & Crafts Learning about character education and improving positive social skills Participating in academic-related activities with education majors Improving swimming skills thru swim lessons at CWU pool Learning about nutrition and preparing snacks

Camp operates during the summer for 10-12 weeks The average attendance per week was 21.8 kids over the ten weeks camp operated Camp attendance has been unpredictable over the past 4 years soaring to over 50 per day at one point The drop in attendance and the introduction of the administrative fee caused us to restructure the program

Creating jobs for students on campus (over $30,000 were paid out last summer in student wages) Generate revenue for other programs by renting the Student Village Multipurpose Room, paying for life guards and swim instructors at the CWU Pool, renting the Climbing Wall

We work with other academic departments for them to create and execute lesson plans for our campers CWU students are offered a reduced rate Students are provided with training and work experience to prepare for careers working with children
