What is ERIC ? The Educational Resource Information Center
is an online digital library of education research and information. It is sponsored by the Institute of Education Sciences (IES) of the U.S. Department of Education. It has more than 1,200,000 records. It links to more than 100,000 full-text documents.

MISSION The ERIC mission is to provide a comprehensive, easy-to-use, searchable, Internet-based bibliographic and full-text database of education research and information.

Record vs. Full-text Document
A record is a citation, or information about the document. For example, the title, the author, the name of the journal, the page numbers; 1,200,000 records in ERIC Full-text means the document itself; 100,000 full-text documents in ERIC.
