Introduction to the Stage 2 Vapour Infuser A NEW ERA OF VAPOUR MANAGEMENT MAKING YOUR SITE MORE PROFITABLE VCS Limited
2
Stage 2 Vapour The Facts: Stage 2 vapour is an indirect delivery to your site It is vapour gained from the car fuel tank not delivered If converted to liquid this will provide you with additional stock Processing this vapour will reduce Wet Stock Losses Provides a payback from Stage 2, if processed.
3
Stage 2 – A Delivery from the Pumps Stage 2 vapour is collected, from all nozzles supplying petroleum products, at the neck of the nozzle, and returned to one tank via a manifold
4
Tank Deliveries – Stage 1B Normally, most Stage 2 vapour is taken by the tanker when connecting to the Stage1B system during the delivery process
5
Basic Principle of Stage 2 The stage 2 vapour is returned to one tank, whilst the product could be supplied from a number of tanks. This creates increased pressures and rapid expansion causing temperature differentials and turbulence.
6
Stage 2 – The Effect on the Tank Pressure increase within the tank farm Extreme vapour generation due to thermal differences. Venting of excess pressure to the atmosphere due to air/vapour expansion Increased stock losses
7
Stage 2 – Temporary Solution A Hole !!!! Existing solutions merely transfer the same problem to another part of the forecourt
8
Stage 2 – Solution The Infuser
9
Stage 2 – The benefits of the Infuser Calming the entry of the stage 2 vapour/air mixture Balancing the temperature between the mixture and tank Reduce operational pressures in the tanks Increased site safety Environmentally beneficial Provide a payback on the expense of Stage 2
10
Stage 2 – Infuser Installation The infuser is installed within the storage tank below the Stage 2 entry. Thereafter no maintenance is required
11
Stage 2 – Infuser Return Based on a standard sales of 2,500,000 litres of petrol per annum Vapour/Air collected – 2,500,000 litres (1:1 ratio) Air/Vapour concentration ratio 50/50 Saturated Petrol vapour collected – 1,250,000 litres Divided by 846 (known conversion factor vapour to liquid) = 1,477 litres of liquid
