2. About us Hello, We are Upton-by-Chester High school, a comprehensive school in Chester. Our School day starts at 08.40 hrs. with registration/assembly and then two x 1 hours lessons before a morning break. “Lessons at Upton are great they are not boring the teachers try make them as fun as possible to help you remember all the information you can”. We then have another 1 hour lesson before our lunch break.

3. Our Uniform We wear a Uniform, we think it shows seriousness to education, as well as formality and respect to residential area surrounding the school. The Uniform Consists of: White Shirt Black Trousers School Blazer Striped Blue, and Red tie Black jumper Black Skirts (Girls) Summer uniforms consists of : Blue shirt Black Skirts (girls) Black Trousers School Blazer James & Haseenara year 8

4. What we do at Break/Lunch times At break/lunch time some students go to play football on the new MUGA (Multi Use Game Area), lunch is available in the canteen where there is a range of delicious & cold food. The Fairtrade shop is open during break time. The learning hub is a brilliant place to go and borrow a book or DVD or use the computers to do your homework. It is a place you can revise and even do the Friday quiz with Mr Ryan.

5. Two more 1 hour lessons – they vary from athletic fun in P.E to awesome experiments in science. Subjects on our timetable: Maths, English, Science, Modern Foreign Languages i.e. French, German, Spanish and Mandarin, Information Technology, Performing Arts, Design & Technology, Art, Physical Education, History, Geography and Religious Studies. The bell rings at 15.10 hrs. and this is then home time if not going to an after school club. Some pupils go home on foot, some by bike or bus and some parents pick up their children" Afternoon

6. School clubs and activities There are a lot of school clubs including Sport, Music, Drama, Art, IT, Cookery and Technology.

7. International Dimension We have students from many faiths and cultures in our school. The School has the Cultural Diversity Award and The International Schools Award. We are linked to schools across the Globe Upton by Chester High School is a great place to study and we are looking forward to the project and sharing ideas with the other schools in our team.
