2 Monday, April 27 1. Chronology- the order of events in time, prefix chrono- meaning time (Chronos, god of time). 2. Echo- repeated sound, often by reflection. (Echo, a nymph punished by Zeus to only repeat the words of others). 3. Narcissism- noun- excessive self- admiration and self-centeredness (Narcissus, gorgeous man punished for vanity). 4. Nemesis- noun- bitter enemy, especially one who seems unbeatable (Nemesis, goddess of punishment and vengeance).

(Tantalus stole the ambrosia and nectar of the gods, punished by spending eternity looking at food and water he could not have). 6. Phobia- noun- a strong, irrational fear and dislike (Phobus, god of panic). 7. Hygiene- noun- the science dealing with the preservation of health and cleanliness (Hygeia, goddess of Health). 8. Furor-noun- an angry or indignant uproar or reaction (Furies, monsters). 9. Capitalization Rule- Capitalize the names of religions, religious days or writings, but DO NOT capitalize the words god or goddess when they refer to ancient mythology.
