Should Have Bought That -> In our scenario, we were pickpocketed on the metro and left with only a passport and 300 euros. Caliss! Luckily we already had a hotel booked and paid for.

Details of the Trip Where: Paris, France When: 20 juillet -25 juillet 2015. 19 th and 26 th are travel days. Hôtel: L’Hôtel in room 16 where Oscar Wilde died in 1900. Located in the historical district of Saint- Germain-des-Prés. Budget: Each day of the 6 day vacation has a 50 euro budget.

Day 1: 20 juillet Arrived in Paris the day before. 7am: Free continental breakfast at the hotel. 8am: Walk to The Louvre from the hotel, 10 min walk. Look at the surrounding sights around the museum. 9am: Museum opens. Cost is 12 euros for access to the permanent collections. 1pm: Lunch at Le Café Grand Louvre which is beneath the pyramid. Cost is 20 euros. 2pm: Back to the musée to complete the self guided tour. 5pm: Leave the Louvre. Walk back across la Seine. 6pm: Café Des Beaux Arts for supper. Camembert sandwich 5,50 euros, and Tiramisu for dessert 6,50. 8pm: Back to the hotel. Total Cost: 44 euros. Day 2: 21 juillet Budget: 50 euros 7am: Free continental breakfast at the hotel. 8am: 16 minute walk to the Jardin des Tuileries. Cost is free. See the ponds and statues, the formal French style gardens, and enjoy the Fête des Tuileries. 1pm: Lunch at Le Bar de l’echelle. A 7 minute walk from the gardens. A bouteille of vin (Chardonnay from outside of Montpellier), 21 euros. Croque Madame with a side of fries, 10 euros. Crème brûlée, 7 euros. 4pm: Walk up the street to Galerie de Valois. Look at the architecture. People watch, and see the Le Palais Royal. The cost of this is free. 7pm: Use the pouet-pouet website to find the Cantine California food truck for some chicken tacos, the food truck is usually in the area around the hotel, always walking distance. Tacos are necessary on a mardi, no matter where you are, 12 euros. 8pm: Go back to the hotel. Day 3: 22 juillet Budget: 50 euros 7am: Free continental breakfast at the hotel. 8am: Explore the city. 9am: Stroll through the Jardin du Luxembourg. View the many fountains and statues, including the first model of the Statue of Liberty. 1pm: Lunch at Chez George a Julia Child favorite. (20 Euros) 2pm: Walk along La Promenade Plantée which is the elevated tree lined walkway overlooking Paris. 6pm: Have a late night picnic at the Square du Vert-Galant. Day 4: 23 juillet Budget: 50 euros 7 am: Free continental breakfast at the hotel. 8 am: Take the metro to Cimitière du Père Lachaise and walk around. Icons such as Oscar Wilde and Prousts are buried in this ancient cemetery. 10 am: Stop at Le Pure Café for a cup of tea. 4 euros 11 am: Walk through the Marché d’Aligre and pick up a fresh bouquet of flowers for your hotel room. 15 euros 2 pm: Eat lunch at La Garde-Temps. Terrine de lapin à l’estragon (rabbit terrine with tarragon). 9 euros. Cheesecake brunoise de mangue à la vanille. 9 euros. 5 pm: Wandering around at Arènes de Lutèce. 7 pm: Watch the sun go down at Canal St-Martin. 9 pm: Walk back to the hotel. Total cost: 37 euros. Learn about the rich history of Paris for free. 5:30 pm: Dinner at Au Duc de Montmorency. Market style bistro. Enjoy scenery and explore area. 11am: Walk along the Siene river. 1pm: Arrive at Page 35 for Lunch. Cost is 13,90 euros. Beignets de calamars à la Romaine (fried calamari), a crêpe, and vanilla ice cream. All included in the price. 4pm: Walk to Place des Vosges to relax at the park and enjoy the surrounding architecture. 4 minutes walking. 6pm: Arrive at Balls for dinner. Cost is 14 euros. 7 minutes walking. 8:30pm: Arrive at the hotel. 14 minutes walking.
