Social/Emotional Development 1 st Nine Weeks Grading Period i TRAILS Social/Emotional Development 1 st Nine Weeks Grading Period Week 1 Arrange time for your child to play with a friend Talk about taking turns and have your child practice letting a friend go first Discuss putting toys away and have your child practice putting their own toys away after playing Read the story Mine-O-Saur by David Clark Take turns with your child pretending to be the characters in the story Discuss how you could help a friend who does not want to share, learn to share Create sharing signs using paints, crayons or pencils that show how a person being a good friend by sharing
