Look at each picture below from the video. Discuss how this animal can provide safety for itself. Discussion

Notes Living together – animals travel in packs to provide safety for each other. Migration – animals move to areas where there is food and water. Hibernation – if food isn’t available, animals may sleep a long deep sleep and live off of stored food or fat. Camouflage – animals blend in with the surroundings so their predator won’t see them. Conservation – some animals have the ability to store food for long periods of time. Changing Appearance – some animals can change their appearance by looking bigger.

Game Directions: Divide students into groups. You will be given a situation. Determine what is the best way to provide safety for yourself in this bad situation. Write down your answers. For each round, each group will read out a solution to the situation. The teacher will determine the best and second best answers. Best answers will earn two points, and second best answers will get one point. Most points at the end of the game wins.

You are a giraffe and are starving for food. You are getting weaker by the minute. A pack of lions is near and awaiting attack. What do you do to survive? Game Round #4
