Company producing the product The cookie will be presented to the Nestle corporation who is looking to market a food product for physically active individuals who seek healthy, but tasty after and between meal snacks. A nutritious, delicious protein cookie was the perfect idea!

Research and Development Energy and nutrition bars has become a multi-billion dollar industry over the last two decades! Product marketed for physically active individuals ranging from young adulthood to middle age. (ages 18 – 55 years) Marketing theory Sight and taste are the determining factors in consumer food purchasing Will Sell next to energy and protein bars in supermarkets, whole food stores, GNC, Vitamin Shoppe Tasty,wholesome, nutritious and visually appealing cookie = success.

Research & Development Cont. Marketing price Keep the product price comparable, but less than that of nutrition and protein bars such as Cliff and Luna bars. Product retail price 15$ per package or $1.00 per cookie (unit price) Total cost to market and produce per box = 4.00$ Food cost 26% of profit (4$ production /15$ retail = 74% profit)

Advertising – A Television Commercial Scenario A man and a woman finish their exercise routines and afterwards walk into a car. Together they both open up a delicious oatmeal protein cookie to enjoy on their ride home. The woman says to her boyfriend, “I can’t believe this cookie is so delicious and healthy at the same time. Look at the nutrition on the label. It has 15 grams of protein, 5 grams of fiber and the ingredients are made from complex carbohydrates too. Wow! I love these cookies!” Her boyfriend says I am glad I bought these since we both like them. I will buy more before we run out. An Announcer says “ Nestle Chocolate Oatmeal Protein Cookies are Available at your local Shoprite, Stop & Shop, GNC, and Vitamin Shoppe.” Radio broadcasting on major stations such as z100, 103.5 ktu etc.

Product components and preparation Serving size: 1 cookie (individual packets) Servings per container 15 Ingredients per 15 cookies 2.20 cups oatmeal, 5 scoops (175 grams) of chocolate whey protein powder 7.5 egg whites, 1.5 tsp. vanilla extract, 1.0 tsp. brown sugar 1.5 tsp olive oil Directions: mix all the ingredients together in a large mixing bowl. Weigh out 1.5 ounce per cookie or 3 tbsp. Bake at 325 degrees F, for 20 minutes. Take out of oven and allow to cool for ten minutes. Serve.

Packaging Primary packaging around the cookie and secondary packaging (the box around enclosing the individual packets). Will include nutrition content on the box as well as on the individual cookie packaging Similar packaging to Tri -0-Plex cookies, but will come in re-sealable bags! Will advertise protein, fiber, and complex carbs on front of box and wrapper packaging for emphasis on nutrition

Possible Outcome? Nestle will further expand their business for creating baked products that are healthy for health conscious people who also exercise. Eating a cookie will now have most of the benefits of a small nutritious health shake.
