Font The design of text – the general shape and style of a set of characters. One style and size of a particular typeface. Example: Palatino is a typeface, but 10-point Palatino bold is a font. There are more than 5,000 typefaces. Typefaces give a publication/or document an appearance of unity, consistence, and clarity.

Typeface/Font Typeface A collection of all the characteristics of a single type design. Named after the designer or after the location where the design was created. 3 categories of typefaces (1) Serif typefaces Have lines or curves extending from the ends of the letters. (2)Sans Serif typefaces Have straight-edges (3)Script typefaces Resembles handwriting or hand-printing. Decorative or display typefaces consist of symbols or designs. The words Typeface and Font are used interchangeably, but they are different.
