8 Planting guidelines Keep roots moist until ready to plant Plant ASAP Dig a hole that the roots can fit in without being too deep or too shallow The top of the root and bottom of the trunk Fill hole half way with dirt Gently pack dirt in & give it some water Fill in the rest of the hole and water a little more

9 Caring for the Tree Try to water the tree weekly to promote root growth and development Use mulch around the base of the tree without touching it Make sure mom and dad know where the tree is located so they do not cut it down by mistake
