2 Driven to become NASCAR’s first deaf driver Born profoundly deaf, Kris is surgically outfitted with a Cochlear implant which allows him to hear Kris also uses a Phonak Hearing System that allows him to communicate with his crew chief and spotter while in the race car – he’s the only driver in the country to use this system Kris travels the U.S. and Canada as a public speaker, talking to kids about following their dreams. 15-20 times Kris is also a personal trainer just outside of Toronto, ON, Canada
