Petunia Three facts The botanical name is Solanales A petunia is an annual. The describtion of a Petunia garden petunias are divided into two types: multifloras and grandifloras. Each has single and double forms, with grandiflora petunias being larger. Singles are more weatherproof than doubles.

Plant Details Petunias need at least five or six hours of good sunlight A petunia grows 15 inches tall and 12 inches wide The bloom durations is summer through fall. Petunia’s use average to rich, moist, well- drained, adapted to poor soil conditions.

Uses Beds, borders, walkways, paths, containers -- all will accommodate an abundance of petunias. Some varieties are especially recommended for containers, since they mound up and billow over the edges.
