Minnesota Reading Corps Minnesota Math Corps Our tutors are trained to change the future.

1 out of 3 third graders does not read at grade level. Minnesota students need a boost. 40% of eighth graders are not proficient in math.

We reach the students who need that boost. Reading Corps and Math Corps tutors… Work with students who are just below grade level. Are trained in methods that are research- based and proven to work. Are placed in preschools, elementary, middle and junior high schools.

The size: There are 1,500 people across Minnesota who commit to serve children through Reading Corps and Math Corps. They are parents, recent graduates, career-changers and retirees. The results: Tutors receive training in research-based methods that are proven to work. What is unique about these programs?

Reading Corps students make real gains After a single semester of tutoring, the average kindergarten student with a Reading Corps tutor performed twice as well as students without one.
