1 Christmas in the U.S. “Happy Holidays” “Season’s Greetings” or “Merry Christmas” What my family does: – On Christmas eve we go to my great aunt’s house for dinner – We usually have a gift exchange – Sometimes we have a white elephant exchange

3 We usually have a first course of some kind of seafood- shrimp cocktails, oysters, etc

4 For the main course we often have small foul, like quail or Cornish game hen Some families have roast turkey or roast beef. Ham is also a popular main dish

5 We also have a vegetable, such as green beans, peas, or brussels sprouts For a starch we often have potatoes or rice We drink wine and sparkling cider with dinner For dessert my great aunt often makes rum cake – Every year it gets stronger and stronger

6 My cat is sleeping under the tree, he took all the bird ornaments off

7 On Christmas day, me, my brother, my parents, and my grandma have a big breakfast of eggs, bacon, fresh rolls and jam Then we open presents Sometimes we also watch Christmas parades on TV

12 Eggnog Recipe Ingredients 4 _____________ 1/3 cup ________, plus 1 tablespoon 1 pint ________ 1 cup __________ 3 ounces _________ 1 teaspoon freshly grated ________ 4 ___________ nutmeg milk egg whites sugar heavy cream bourbon egg yolks
