4 UCAS Application process Early Application Window – 1 st September to 15 th October Predicted Grades – applications can only be screened using the information provided at the point of application References/Personal statement/Dates not available for interview

8 PU PSMD Admissions process Three stage selection process: 1. Academic selection = GCSE’s, A/AS level, IB 2. UKCAT – thresholds determined by number passing the academic selection against capacity to interview 3. Interview = November/December, offers made in late December. Offers based purely on interview performance, no reference back to UCAS form. All offers are conditional on health screening & DBS

10 Admissions Statistics 5 - 7 applications per place Typically only 40% of applicants will be selected for interview 55% of this sample will receive offers -All institutions ‘over offer’ Competition is high but do not allow rejection to dissuade commitment
