What is Wise Eyes? It is a Crime Watch Program designed for not only neighborhoods but all others who daily travel our County roads conducting their normal business. It also is Johnson County’s answer to the Amber Alert. (Child Abduction Plan).

Why is it Necessary? Citizens cannot afford an officer on each corner Not enough officers to cover the 735 square miles 24 hours a day Criminals prey on areas of low police presence We know that we cannot succeed without citizens’ help Let criminals know that our citizens are active in fighting crime Only 3-hour window in child abductions

TYPES OF CRIMES Daytime Burglaries Farm Related Thefts Oil Industry Thefts Elderly Scams

Why Johnson County Appeals to Criminals Rural Proximity to metroplex 735 square miles Low law enforcement visibility

Problems to Overcome Manpower to cover county 24-7 causing low visibility. Officer experience factor. Large case loads. Majority of land and citizens outside cities with police departments. Many non-law enforcement mandated duties.
