I want to write an article You will need to: – Decide on a topic in which to write – Search online for articles that are similar to yours, so that you can get a feel for what is already published. – Write – revise- edit following your deadlinesdeadlines – Find a place to submit your article Find a place to submit your article – Follow their submission guidelines – Submit your article/print submission for your teacher

What is an enterprise story? Enterprise reporting involves stories not based on press releases or news conferences. reporting is all about the stories a reporter digs up on his or her own, what many people call “scoops.” reporting goes beyond merely covering events. It explores the forces shaping those events.

What is an expository essay? Essays that described how to do something. Essays that analyze events, ideas, objects, or written works. Essays that describe a process. Essays that explain/describe an historical event.

Read Around April 4 Students will break into groups of 4 – Supplies: Pen Sticky notes Literary piece Activity: – Student 1 will begin reading their literary piece Everyone will listen - no writing should occur. – Student 1 will read their literary piece again Students will write 3 positive notes about student 1 essay Students will write 2 notes that suggest ways to improve student 1 essay – Students 2, 3, & 4 will take turns sharing their notes with student 1. Students should expand/explain their suggestions Student 1 may ask questions for clarification – Repeat process for each student We are finished, now what? – Find a place to work quietly – Use the feedback you received to revise your literary piece
