No film or processing chemistry is used. Digital radiograph instead uses an electronic sensor and computerized image system that produce x-ray images on computer monitor.
3
To detect the lesions, diseases, and conditions of the teeth and surrounding structures. To confirm or classify suspected disease. To provide information during dental procedure (RCT) (implant placement ). To evaluate growth and development. To illustrate change secondary to caries, periodontal disease, or trauma. To document the condition of the patient at specific point in time.
4
direct digital imaging The essential components of direct digital imaging system include an x-ray machine,a intraoral sensor, and computer monitor. The sensor placed into the mouth and exposed to x-ray,the sensor captuer the radiographic image and transmite the image to a computer monitor.software is used to enhance and store the image.
5
indirect digital imaging The essential components of an indirect digital imaging system include a CCA camera and computer, the CCA camera scan the image and digitalize and then display it on to computer monitor.the indirect image is copy that mean is versus the original.
6
Superior gray scale resolution, colored imaging. Reduce exposure to x-radiation. Increase speed of image viewing. Lower equipment and film cost. Efficiency. Enhancement of diagnostic image. Effective patient education tool.
