7 How do I set up and install my DCS-2136L Download and the install wizard for your camera from http://www.mydlink.com/support Launch the install wizard: Select a language from the drop-down menu and click Start.

8 Accept the End User License Agreement by checking the box next to “I accept these terms and conditions”, then click Next

9 Follow the on-screen instructions to connect your camera to your router and connect the power. Click Next after you have completed each step.

11 Confirm that the LED on the front of the camera is lit solid green.

12 Select your DCS-2136L using the radio button from the menu on the left-hand side of the camera name. Enter and confirm a new password for the administrator account in the fields provided. This password will be required when logging in to the camera’s web-based configuration interface. Click Next to continue.

13 Using the radio buttons, select how you wish to connect your camera to your router for normal operation. You can choose to connect using wired connection (Ethernet cable), or a wireless connection using Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS), or by manually Selecting a wireless network. Choose the appropriate radio button for your configuration, and click Next to continue.

14 If you selected Ethernet cable connection, follow the on-screen instructions to connect your camera to your router using an Ethernet cable. Once completed, click Next to continue the wizard.

15 If you selected By using Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS), follow the on-screen instructions to connect your camera to your wireless router using WPS. Once completed, click Next to continue the wizard. Note: Your router must support WPS Push-button Connection (PBC) in order to use this method.

16 If you selected By selecting a wireless network, choose an available wireless network from the drop-down menu. If you do not see your wireless network in the list, click Rescan to search for wireless networks again. If your network requires a password, enter it in the Wireless password field. Click Next to continue.

17 In order to use the cloud features of your camera, you will need to register it with your mydlink account. If you do not have a mydlink account, you can create one during this step. To add the DCS-2136L to your existing mydlink account, select Yes, I already have a mydlink account, then enter your mydlink account username (email address) and password in the fields provided and click Next.

18 If you selected No, I want to sign up for a new account, enter the information required for account registration in the fields provided. Check the box to indicate that you have read the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy for mydlink Cloud Services. Click Next to continue.

19 If you do not wish to use the mydlink service, select I don’t want to enable mydlink cloud service. You will not be able to use any of the cloud services associated with your camera. Click Next to continue. Setup is complete. A summary page with display your camera’s setup details, as well as your mydlink account information. Click Finish.

20 You can now log in to your mydlink account to view and manage your DCS-2136L by visiting http://www.mydlink.com

21 How do I find the IP address of my DCS-2136L and access the web- based user interface If your camera is connected to your router as a DHCP client, the IP address of your camera will change depending on the DHCP address assigned to it by your router. In order to access the web-based user interface, follow the below steps to determine the IP address of your camera. Note: the following instructions are for Windows® 7. 1: Open My Computer. 2: From the menu on the left-hand side, click on Network.

22 3: Under the Media Devices section, locate the DCS-2136L and right-click on the icon. Select Properties from the pop-up menu.

23 4: In the Properties window, locate the IP address at the bottom of the window. This is the IP address of your camera. Make a note of this address. 5: Open a web browser, such as Internet Explorer, and enter the IP address of your camera in the address bar. 6: A pop up window will ask for the login credentials. The username for the administrator account is admin. Enter your administrator password in the password field. If you have not changed this from the default, leave this field blank. Click OK.

24 How do I set an administrator (admin) password on my DCS-2136L Note: mydlink Cloud Service registration requires the admin password. 1: Open a web browser and enter the IP address of your camera in the address bar (default is 192.168.0.20). 2: The username for the administrator account is admin. Enter your administrator password in the password field. If you have not changed this from the default, leave this field blank. Click OK.

25 3: Click the Maintenance tab at the top of the page and then click Admin from the menu on the left hand side. 4: To change the administrator password, enter a New Password under the Admin Password Setting section. Enter the password again in the Retype Password field to confirm 5: Click Save to save the settings. Note: If you forget the administrator password, you will need to reset the device in order to gain access to the configuration interface.

26 What if I forget the Admin password for my camera (How do I reset my camera to factory default settings) Note: After a factory reset you will need to re-register the camera with mydlink. Do not unplug the power during this procedure. 1: With the unit on, place a paper clip into the hole on the back on the unit labeled Reset. 2: Use the paperclip to press the button inside the hole for 10 seconds and release. 3: The unit will then reboot. Once the LED light on the front of the unit stops blinking, the unit is reset and all settings are restored to their defaults.

27 How do I Change the LAN IP Address of my Camera 1: Open a web browser and enter the IP address of your camera in the address bar (default is 192.168.0.20). 2: The username for the administrator account is admin. Enter your administrator password in the password field. If you have not changed this from the default, leave this field blank. Click OK.

28 3: Click on Setup from the menu at the top of the page. 4: Select Network Setup from the menu on the left hand side of the page, and select the Static IP Address radio button.

29 5: Enter the desired IP address for the camera in the IP address field. The new address should be within the same subnet as the default IP address (192.168.0.xxx). 6: Click the Save Settings button to save the new settings.

30 How do I configure motion detection on my camera Method 1 To be used if your D-Link Cloud Camera is already registered with mydlink Cloud Service. 1: Open your web browser and enter http://www.mydlink.com/ 2: Enter your ID (email) and password at the login screen and click Sign in.

31 3: Select the camera and click on Settings. 4: Select the Motion Detection checkbox and click on the motion detection icon.

32 5: Use your mouse and the drawing tools to select the detection area, and select the desired sensitivity level using the slider on the bottom right-hand side of the page. Click Next to continue.

33 6: Click on Finish to save the current motion detection configuration.

34 7: Click Save.8: Click on Yes to confirm saving changes.

36 3: Click on Setup from the menu at the top of the page 4: Click Motion Detection on the menu at the left-hand side of the page.

37 5: Check the Enable Video Motion checkbox to turn on software-based motion detection. If you wish to use the built-in PIR sensor to detect motion, check the Enable PIR checkbox. Click and drag your mouse over the video to select an area for motion detection. You can also specify the Sensitivity of the motion detection feature, as well as the Percentage of the motion detection area which must contain motion before an alert is triggered. 6: Click the Save Settings button to save the new settings.

38 Which types of motion detection are available on my IP camera Selected D-Link Cloud Cameras offer 2 different types of motion detection. 1. Software or Pixel Change Motion Detection: The camera compares the change in pixels from one frame to another.

39 Hardware or PIR (Passive Infrared Sensor): Motion is detected when an object enters the image and gives off a different heat signature.

40 How do I configure the audio settings (speaker and microphone) on my DCS-2136L 1: Open a web browser and enter the IP address of your camera in the address bar (default is 192.168.0.20). 2: The username for the administrator account is admin. Enter your administrator password in the password field. If you have not changed this from the default, leave this field blank. Click OK.

41 3: Click on Setup from the menu at the top of the page. 4: Click Audio and Video from the menu at the left-hand side of the page.

42 5: To enable the microphone, ensure the Audio in off checkbox is unchecked. To enable the speaker ensure the Audio out off checkbox is unchecked. You can adjust the gain for both the audio in (microphone) and audio out (speaker) using the drop-down menus on the right-hand side of the box. Click Save Settings to save the current configuration.

43 How do I manually upgrade the Firmware on my Camera Note: All firmware upgrades should be done over a WIRED connection. If your camera is currently configured for wireless, plug it directly into your router before proceeding. Do not turn your camera off during the firmware upgrade process – doing so could permanently damage the unit. 1: Download the latest firmware file for your device from https://www.mydlink.com/support 2: Open a web browser and enter the IP address of your camera in the address bar (default is 192.168.0.20). 3: The username for the administrator account is admin. Enter your administrator password in the password field. If you have not changed this from the default, leave this field blank. Click OK.

44 4: Click the Maintenance tab at the top of the page and then click Firmware Upgrade from the menu on the left-hand side of the page. 5: Click on Browse and select the downloaded firmware file. Once the firmware file appears in the File Path field, click Upload to commence the firmware upgrade process.

45 How Do I Mount my Camera to the Wall or Ceiling Note: It is suggested that you configure the camera before mounting. 1: Align the mounting base where you want to position the camera and use a pencil to mark the holes. 2: Depending on the material of the wall or ceiling, use proper tools to drill two holes or screws where you marked. If the wall is made out of concrete, drill the holes first, insert the plastic anchors and then the screws. Note: The space between the camera and the screw heads should be about 3mm.

46 3: Place the mounting base over the screw that is mounted on the wall. Make sure to fit the screw-heads over the big holes and slide it downward to lock firmly. Lightly pull the base forward to make sure that it is locked. 4: Place the base cover on the base and screw the camera stem clockwise into the mounting base.

47 5: Adjust the angle of the camera as desired, then tighten the collar on the camera stem to lock it in place.

48 What can I do when Active X fails to install during my mydlink camera setup 1: If you have any firewall software installed (Norton, McAfee, Kaspersky), try temporarily disabling them and running the wizard again. 2: Ensure you are running the latest setup wizard. Please visit http://mydlink.com/support to download the latest version for your mydlink camera. 3: Check your Internet Explorer settings. Ensure that the security level is set to Medium-high or Medium. (If set to High, temporarily lower until setup is complete) Open Internet Explorer Click Settings > Internet Options

50 How do I configure Internet Explorer to allow ActiveX Controls 1: Open Internet Explorer browser. 2: Click the settings icon and then select Internet Options from the drop-down menu. 3: Click on the Security tab, select Internet, then click on the Custom Level button.

51 4: Please check the settings of ActiveX controls and plug-ins. Note: Disable settings will block your ActiveX Installation, Note: If you have antivirus or firewall programs running, make sure they are not blocking ActiveX controls from being downloaded or running. Make sure that you have administrative rights before installing the ActiveX controls.

52 How do I access my mydlink camera remotely In order to view your mydlink camera remotely through the mydlink portal or using the mydlink app, you must first register your camera to a mydlink account. This is done by running the installation CD or camera installer which came supplied with your camera. If you have not yet registered your camera with mydlink, please visit https://www.mydlink.com/support to download the installer for your camera. Using mydlink Web Portal 1: Log in to your mydlink account at http://www.mydlink.com

53 2: Select your mydlink camera to view live video.

54 mydlink Lite App 1: Download and install the mydlink Lite app from your smartphone’s application store (Android or iOS) 2: Log into the app with your user mydlink username/password

55 Your camera(s) are now visible. Select the DCS-2136L from the list of available cameras to view your live video feed.

56 How do I enable a new camera in D-ViewCam D-ViewCam is software that may be purchased separately. It is useful for monitoring multiple Cloud Cameras simultaneously. 1: Launch the D-ViewCam console. Once the console loads, click on the General Settings icon, then Setting, and then click System Setting.

57 2: Click on the Camera tab.3: Click Search to automatically find the IP camera(s) that are on your local area network (LAN).

58 4: Select one of the IP cameras that are available. You may enter a new name for this camera and then enter the administrator username and password assigned to this camera. Click OK to add the camera.

59 5: The pop-up window will close and the new camera should appear on the list.

60 If a camera does not support UPnP, you can manually add a camera as below. 1: Click Insert to manually add a network camera that is on your local area network (LAN).

61 2: Enter the following network information for your camera: Name - Enter a name for your camera. IP Address - Enter the IP address of this camera. If you want to use a domain name, then select DNS and enter the domain name. HTTP Port - 80 is the default port. User Name - Enter the administrator user name for this camera. Password - Enter the administrator password for this camera. Protocol - Select TCP, UDP, HTTP, or HTTPS. Enter the following device information for your camera: Auto Detect - Click to detect the vender and model information. Vendor - Select the brand name from the dropdown menu. Camera Model - Select the camera model from the drop-down menu. Video Channel - Select the video channel you want to assign the camera 3: Click OK to add your camera.

62 How do I set up motion detection and recording in D-ViewCam 1: Launch D-ViewCam and click the Schedule Configuration icon. 2: Select the camera(s) you want to apply the recording schedule to, create a schedule and click Configure.

63 3: Under the Mode menu, select Record on Motion using the radio button. 4: Under the Original Video view, click and drag your mouse to draw a box or multiple boxes around what you want to monitor for motion Click OK to close the Encoding Options and click OK again to close Schedule Configuration.

64 5: Click the Start Menu icon and click Start Recording Schedule

65 A circle will appear in the top right corner of each camera configured for motion detection recording. Green = No Motion Detected Red= Motion Detected

66 How do I set up scheduled recording in D-ViewCam 1: Launch D-ViewCam and click the Schedule Configuration icon. 2: Select the camera(s) you want to apply the recording schedule to, then create a schedule and click Configure.

67 3: Under Mode, ensure Always Record is selected. 4: Under the Time section, specify the time when you want the recording to occur and click OK. Note: If you want to record audio, be sure to select Record Audio from the audio section. Click OK to close the Encoding Options and click OK again to close Schedule Configuration.

68 5: Click the Start Menu icon and click Start Recording Schedule. Note: A Red circle will appear in the top right corner of each camera with recording configured. This indicates that it is recording.

69 What are the system requirements for D-ViewCam 3.x To ensure your D-ViewCam surveillance system can maintain high video monitoring and recording performance, certain minimum system configurations are required. Note: Recording video over a long period of time will consume large amounts of disk space. Make sure that you have enough disk space available if you want to use the recording function. You can still complete the installation even if you have less than the suggested free disk space.

70 Why can't I see the video from my camera on D-ViewCam Issue:

71 2: Click on the Camera tab, select your camera, and click Config. Fix: Ensure that you have entered the correct IP address of your D-Link Camera along with the correct username and password (if any has been configured) 1: Launch D-ViewCam and click General Settings > Setting > System Setting

72 3: Confirm: Correct IP address is entered Correct User Name and Password Correct Vendor and Model are selected Click OK The camera video should now be visible.

73 Why there is no sound on D-ViewCam recording playback 1: Launch D-ViewCam and click the Schedule Configuration icon. 2: Click Configure.

74 3: Ensure that the Record Audio checkbox is checked and click OK. 4: Click on the General Settings icon, go to Setting, and then click System Setting.

75 5: Check the Enable Audio on Active Channel and click OK. You should now be able to hear your camera’s audio.
