2.  The Carcassonne Festival is a show with concerts, cirque, classical music, opera, dance and theatre (so there will be six different types of shows).  About 250 000 people will come to the festival, it will take place from 19th june to 1st august 2014. There will be 100 free shows.  There are 20 different stages in the festival. The most famous stage is «la scène du grand théâtre», it is the biggest theatre in the medieval city of Carcassonne.

3. One of the biggest artists of the festival  Elton John was born on the 25 th March in 1947 in England. He is a singer who will come to the Carcassonne festival this summer. Elton John is a famous pianist, singer and composer of rock known everywhere in the world. He sold a lot of discs in his career -350 million albums. During 40 years from 1970 to 2010, Elton John got a lot of prizes, wrote songs liked by his fans.  He created a foundation to fight AIDS (a sickness).

4.  During the 20 th century, Elton John became the best singer of rock (after Elvis Presley). Elton John has a very extravagant look, a way of getting dressed very different from most of people. But he is also a genius in piano and in rock.  His powerful voice and his music have always enchanted his public. Moreover some famous singers resumed his songs to sing them themselves. This worldwide superstar is impatiently awaited in the Carcassonne festival this summer.
