Separating employee clears out on the last day of employment Problems associated with the old process include: ◦ no advance notice for key departments ◦ Not all departments aware of separation ◦ No verification of signatures on out-processing checklist ◦ Inadequate key control process ◦ No mechanism to recover outstanding fees or university property ◦ Inconsistent termination of all accounts ◦ Outdated separation forms

Separating employee required to walk a form to 5 locations to obtain signatures At least 3 more departments wanted to be added

HR website – Forms http://www.utsa.edu/hr/forms.cfm#10 SNG will respond by email (clear or not) Using the Separation Processing Checklist - indicate if cleared or N/A. If outstanding issues - notify employee

Once cleared, forward checklist & the separation form to HR Unless there are any outstanding obligations, employee goes to one place – HR
