Pink Shirt Day Celebrating kindness, respect and positive relationships.
3
Pink Shirt Day In 2007 two Nova Scotia youth, David Shepherd and Travis Price and their teenage friends organized a high-school protest to wear pink in support of a Grade 9 boy who was being bullied. So David and Travis and some others went to a discount store and bought 50 pink shirts. They sent out messages to schoolmates that night, and the next morning they brought the shirts to school in a plastic bag. As they stood in the foyer handing out the shirts, the bullied boy walked in. His face spoke volumes. It looked like a huge weight was lifted off his shoulders, Travis recalled.

What if I am Bullying Someone? Admit it to yourself first. Tell an adult that you trust that you want to change your behaviour. Don’t label yourself as “mean” or “bad”, but work to do better the next time. Maybe someone else is hurting you so ask yourself why would you want to hurt someone else?
