Opportunities Provided by Trip A great opportunity to represent our school in a performance at a unique, prestigious venue with maximum audience exposure Educational opportunities from observing highly trained professional performers and entertainers in live performances Opportunity to build camaraderie among students (team-building) A great vacation opportunity for the students with their friends

The Magic Music Days Performance: A Special Parade Performance on Walt Disney World Resort Property (a ¾ mile route through the Magic Kingdom) on Saturday, June 12th. The Group will attend Disney Magic Music Morning, an orientation session and breakfast on the day of the performance. All participants receive a commemorative Disney Magic Music Days Medal. The band has been selected to march in the Main Street Disney Parade based upon video tapes submitted. All students going on the trip will be included in the marching performance.

Costs: What will the trip cost and what is included? The cost is $850 and the trip is all-inclusive, i.e. it includes: Travel by Charter Bus Lodging at the Walt Disney Resort All Meals Boxed meals when traveling; or, meals at restaurants according to the following allowance: $10 Breakfast, $10 Lunch, $15 Dinner Performance Entry Fees Contribution (17%) to shared group costs Disney 5 Day Park Hopper Plus admission ticket Everything necessary for a wonderful trip! (Extra spending $$ is up to you.)

What has been done to secure the lowest pricing for this trip? We have arranged for lodging and park admission tickets directly through Disney (no commissions to agents). We have applied for and received tax exempt status from the State of Florida (no sales tax). We have requested competitive bids for travel (checked both air and charter bus).

Meals: How are meals handled at Disney World? Students will be issued a meal allowance daily ($10 Breakfast, $10 Lunch, $15 Dinner) Dining options are available at Port Orleans and all over the Disney Resort at varied prices Meal allowance offers more options than student meal tickets that include an entrée, beverage and dessert/cookie. (Student meal tickets cost more than if items are purchased separately.)

Sample Menu: Current menus were not found online, but similar, moderately- priced dining options are available throughout Walt Disney World.

Tentative Itinerary (to be finalized as trip nears) Tuesday, June 8 th Luggage Uniform Checkout Boxed Meals 3:30 Departure Boxed dinner on bus, movies and rest. Bring pillow and blanket, snacks, etc.

Wednesday, June 9 th Breakfast in Tallahassee, Florida Travel Straight to Orlando (Late Lunch!) Arrive at Resort, 3:00 – 3:30; Check-in and get lunch Go to Parks, Return by 10:30 p.m. Curfew @ 11:30 p.m. – MUST be in room.

Thursday and Friday, June 10 th and 11 th Free Day in Parks Epcot Magic Kingdom MGM Animal Kingdom Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach Chaperone check-in & Curfew as usual (Chaperones will be assigned to all parks and students must check in and out if park hopping.)

Saturday, June 12th Disney Music Morning (orientation & breakfast) Free time in parks Prepare for parade performance Magic Music Days parade performance Put things away and enjoy rest of evening in park Return to resort for curfew; pack for home

Sunday, June 13th Check out, load luggage, instruments, items for return trip by 9:30 a.m. Spend the day in the parks. Meet back at the buses at 8:00 pm to depart by 8:30.

Monday, June 14th Breakfast in Lafayette, Louisiana Lunch in Katy, Texas San Antonio by 5:30 p.m. Check email or call to confirm buses are on schedule

Supervision of Students Safety of all students is top priority! Regular check-in with chaperones will be required. Park Hopping will be closely monitored. Disney’s phone message system at First Aid Center will be utilized. Curfew will be 11:30 p.m. nightly, or as scheduled in final itinerary. Room keys will be collected daily by chaperones.

All chaperones will carry cell phones and reference cards for checking First Aid Center messages.

Added Opportunity for Families On past trips, some families have traveled apart from the band to the same trip destination to see the band perform. Those who do can: Purchase Disney tickets at our group discounted rate - $168.36 per ticket. Tickets must be ordered through our group ticket order. Payment and ticket order must be submitted by 5/31/10. Secure Disney lodging at our group rate - $163 per room per night (quad occupancy). Rooms must be reserved through our group reservation. Payment for the first night ($163 per room) must be received by 1/31 to take advantage of this opportunity.

Deadlines Fast Approaching: Signed Trip Commitment Letter needed by Wednesday, January 27 th as we must confirm rooms and buses. First payment (non-refundable) due by Monday, February 1 st. Note: Students must first pay any outstanding band or flag obligations to be eligible to participate in the trip. Please see booster club treasurer or directors to resolve outstanding obligations.
