1 ScreenGraphicsNarrationAudioAnimationNavigationDescription 1: IntroductionImage 1: the_human_eye.p ng Image 2: continue_btn.jpg None Continue: The Human Eye This screen introduces the course. Programmer Player: Articulate Studio ‘13 LMS: Canvas This module is part of a larger course for the first-year undergraduate class. In this lesson, you will be introduced to the human eye, its individual components, and their respective functions. There are a few things you should know about this course before you begin. It is interactive; you can navigate forward or back to previous pages by using the navigation buttons at the bottom of the screen. At the end of the module, there will be a brief review to evaluate what you have learned about the human eye. Let’s begin by clicking the continue button below. image 1 Introduction – The Human Eye image 2 Customer: HSC ISVersion: 1 Storyboard by: P. TaylorDate: January 6, 2014 SLIDE 01

Programmer Player: Articulate Studio ‘13 LMS: Canvas The human eye belongs to a general group of eyes found in nature called “camera-type eyes.” Instead of film, the human eye focuses light onto a light- sensitive membrane called the retina. Click the “continue” button to see how the human eye is put together and how it works. image 1 The Human Eye image 2 image 3 Customer: HSC ISVersion: 1 Storyboard by: P. Programmer Player: Articulate Studio ’13 Engage Interaction- Guided Image denotes branching LMS: Canvas 6. Vitreous Humor The interior chamber of the eyeball is filled with a jelly-like tissue called the vitreous humor. After passing through the lens, light must travel through this humor before striking the sensitive layer of cells called the retina. image 1 The Human Eye image 2 image 3 Customer: HSC ISVersion: 1 Storyboard by: P. Programmer Player: Articulate Studio ’13 Engage Interaction- Guided Image denotes branching LMS: Canvas 10. Rods & Cones Embedded in the retina are millions of light sensitive cells, which come in two main varieties: rods and cones. Rods are good for monochrome vision in poor light, while cones are used for color and for the detection of fine detail. Cones are packed into a part of the retina directly behind the retina called the fovea. When light strikes either the rods or the cones of the retina, it's converted into an electric signal that is relayed to the brain via the optic nerve. The brain then translates the electrical signals into the images we see. image 1 The Human Eye image 2 image 3 Customer: HSC ISVersion: 1 Storyboard by: P.
