20. 20 Life Long Learning Adult learning is of particular relevance to sciences and high technology, in order to keep abreast of rapid developments. As a result of the speed in generating new knowledge, the half life of a qualification in sciences and technology is considered to be under two years. LLL policies are of inherent importance to universities of applied sciences and technology and should form integral components of their missions.
