2 A lie detector’s correct name is the Polygram. In 1730 a BritishNovelist, known as Daniel Defoe first introduced the theory oftaking pulse to determine the truth.

3 Further on in human development, Cesare Lonbroso created aninstrument to measure blood pressure patterns in 1885. This modifiedDefeo’s theory and was the start of a brilliant discovery.

4 Finally, in 1902 James Mackenzie created a fullyfunctional machine that was later named Polygram.

5 Additional parts were added to advance this inventionover years. In 1904, another man added the ability tomeasure breathing.

6 In 1917 the polygram was put to use for the first time.

7 Over the years the Polygram was useless. People wereable to cheat over the detectors, training their body notto react during the procedures.
