A lie detector’s correct name is the Polygram. In 1730 a BritishNovelist, known as Daniel Defoe first introduced the theory oftaking pulse to determine the truth.

Further on in human development, Cesare Lonbroso created aninstrument to measure blood pressure patterns in 1885. This modifiedDefeo’s theory and was the start of a brilliant discovery.

Finally, in 1902 James Mackenzie created a fullyfunctional machine that was later named Polygram.

Additional parts were added to advance this inventionover years. In 1904, another man added the ability tomeasure breathing.

In 1917 the polygram was put to use for the first time.
