Frederick Jones was born on May 17, 1893 in Covington, Kentucky near Cincinnati, Ohio. After he served in World War 1, he returned to France and worked as a garage mechanic. With the experience of being a mechanic, Mr. Jones developed a self-starting gasoline motor along with devices for the developing movie industry. He also developed the first automatic refrigeration system for long-haul trucks, an air-conditioning unit for military field hospitals, and a refrigerator for a military field kitchen.

Frederick invented many things such as the self-starting gasoline motor, devices for the movie industry that was developing at that time, refrigerators for military fields and long-haul trucks. He also developed was an air-conditioning unit for military field hospitals.

Mr. Jones impacted society by inventing things that would benefit everybody. Like when he invented the refrigeration system for trucks he prevented food from spoiling on long drives. Also when he invented the air-conditioning unit for military field hospitals, the people in the hospital can at least have air-conditioning.
