Printed repeat patterns are used in many commercial environments. We use them regularly but can you think of any examples?

1. pick a simple shape such as a apiece of fruit or a flower and draw the same shape in each of the squares 2. Cut out the squares 3. Play with repeat patterns and take pictures of each of your designs for your sketchbook Look at grids, brickwork, rotation staggered patterns. What can you find?

Just by drawing 9 of the same pictures you have created a repeat pattern. Now cut them out and try rotating, staggering or brickwork. If you have finished try working with 2 or 3 images
