1 Overview of AIRE-O2 Triton® Technology

2 History & Development of the AIRE-O2 Triton®
Introduced in 1997 Developed to dramatically increase oxygen transfer and mixing Address growing Biological Nutrient Removal (BNR) regulations Prototype unit installed in Norway for leachate treatment Concurrently developed slow speed mixers for specific applications Currently over 2,500 units in the field

3 How the Triton Differs From a Standard Aspirator
Low Speed Motor 900 / 750 RPM Addition of Onboard Regenerative Blower Allows for Process Control (Nitrification / Denitrification) Oversized Mixing Propeller Higher O2 Transfer Double the Mixing Energy Savings Due to Improved Efficiencies and Turn Down Capability

4 Mixing Propeller Comparison

5 New Saturn Ring Diffuser
Complete Separation of Mixing and Oxygenation for Nitrification and Denitrification Applications Improved Oxygen Transfer Reduces Drag and Improves Reliability & Longevity New and Improved Saturn Ring Diffuser Original Power ShearTM propeller

6 The Triton is Designed to Accomplish Three Simultaneous Functions
1. Create a precise flow velocity to provide proper mixing 2. Provide maximum volume of water flow 3. Create shear flows to shear airflow into fine bubbles. Both the Aire-O2® Aspirator and Triton are defined as ‘fine bubble’ aspirators by the EPA.

7 Why is Fine Bubble Important?
With the AIRE-O2 Triton® we are able to inject more air into the water and still break the bubbles into ‘fine bubbles’. Breaking a 1" diameter bubble into EPA defined ‘fine bubbles’ (2mm) increases the total surface area from 3.14 sq. in. to more than 39 sq. in. The ‘fine bubbles’ also have a longer hang time More surface area and longer hang time means more O2 transfer.

8 AERATION MODE Air is pressurized using a high efficiency regenerative blower The air is forced down the hollow shaft through the Saturn Ring Diffuser The air is then sheered into fine bubbles, while the large mixing propeller forces the air in a downward direction This action dramatically extends bubble hang time and the pressure that the bubble is under, thus increasing oxygen transfer This action allows for deeper tank configurations, thereby allowing a small footprint and less land required for the system.

9 MIXING MODE When the blower is turned off, the mixing propeller maintains velocities in the channel without the introduction of air This allows for turn down capability when BOD & flows are at lower levels resulting in energy savings Uniform solids suspension in the basin at all depths is maintained for optimal denitrication

10 Major Features & Benefits
High Oxygen Transfer and Dispersion Only Process Aerator Capable of BNR Removal Dual Mode Capability Separates Aeration & Mixing for Anoxic Applications Allows For Complete Control of Process Environment Triton Mixing is 3 to 5 Times Greater Than Conventional Surface Aeration

11 Major Features & Benefits
No Aerosoling, Splashing, or Cooling Turndown Capability to Meet Fluctuating Hydraulic & Biological Loads in Waste Stream = Power Savings  Triton RPM is 900 RPM 60Hz. / 750 RPM 50Hz. which means: Less Wear and Tear of Equipment Less Maintenance = Lower Cost of Ownership Superior Mixing versus traditional high speed aerators No Troublesome & Expensive Gearbox Design
