3. CAN I DESIGN A POSTER USING MY DESCRIPTIVE WRITING? Using their writing, design a ‘Missing Puppy’ poster; links with ICT (i.e. word, paint, clip art etc.)

4. NUMERACY CAN I CALCULATE THE COST OF KEEPING MY DOG? Give the children a list of everything they will need to look after their pet (i.e. food, vet bills, beauty parlour, bedding etc.) High Ability: Add 2 additional items to their list Low Ability: Work out how much money they will need for a day. High Ability: Work out how much money they will need for a week

5. NUMERACY CAN I USE DIRECTIONS TO TAKE MY DOG FOR A WALK? Provide the children with a grid that features a start (A) and end point (B). Children must use compass point to get from A to B. H.A: Use 8 compass points L.A: Use 4 compass points

6. SCIENCE CAN I IDENTIFY PROPERTIES OF BUILDING MATERIALS? Examples of different materials; children to decide which material is ideal for their kennel (i.e. which materials wouldn’t be suitable and why?)

7. TECHNOLOGY/ART CAN I DESIGN AND BUILD A KENNEL? Use their findings from science to design and build their dog kennel.

8. ART CAN I CREATE MY DOG OUT OF JUNK MATERIAL? Children to use junk material to create a 3D dog. Discuss recycling (link to science).
