The tactile and visual nature of the medium differs from every other medium. They are portable and easy to access. Although the internet has had an impact on the mag market, much of what features in magazines is exclusive to the issue.

4. The industry Magazines exist to make money. An average magazine consists of 45% advertising with some fashion magazines exceeding 70%. Money is generated from the cover price of course but the primary revenue is generated by advertising. This is called ‘dual revenue stream’.
