Who Invented the Anemometer A person called Leon Battista Alberti in the year 1450 but the cup anemometer was invented by a person named Dr. John Thomas Ronrey Robinson in the year 1846.

Why do we use Anemometer We use Anemometers because the anemometer measures wind velocity using a disc or group of four cups. These cups catch the wind inside it and then it rotates. The stronger the wind hits the cup, the faster the anemometer will rotate.

Scales An Anemometer measures the speed of the wind in mph, m/s, km/h or Knots as in speed.
