RADIOGRAPHIC & MAMOGRAPHIC EQUIPMENT
3
An magnetic resonance imaging machine is one of the most popular radiology equipmentmagnetic resonance imaging
5
The x-ray machine is divided into four major components. The Tube The Operating Console The High Voltage Section The Film Holder, Grid Cabinet or Table
7
Floor mounted x-ray tube stand. Wall grid cabinet or Bucky Mobile Table with grid cabinet (optional)

The Bucky-Potter grid is a device invented by German radiologist Gustav Bucky and improved by American radiologist Hollis E. Potter that enhances the quality of diagnosticmedical x- ray images. The grid is positioned on the opposite side of the patient from the x-ray tube to reduce the quantity of scattered x-rays that reach the film, fluorescent screen, or x-ray image intensifier. Reducing the amount of scattered x- rays increases the image’s contrast resolution and, consequently, the visibility of soft tissues.medical x- rayx-ray tubex-ray image intensifiersoft tissues

Control Booth should contain the operator console and technique charts and space to store cassettes. The wall between the booth and X-ray unit is shielded.
16
High Voltage Section or Generator used to change incoming power to levels needed to produce x-rays.
17
The X-Ray Tube Development Dr. Roentgen used a Crookes-Hittorf tube to make the first x-ray image. There was no shielding so x-rays were emitted in all directions.
18
The X-Ray Tube Development The Coolidge Hot cathode tube was a major advancement in tube Design. The radiator at the end of the anode cool the anode.
20
The X-Ray Tube Development This is a modern rotating anode x- ray tube. It is encased completely in a metal protective housing.
