1 School of Medicine Shared Resource Facilities The School of Medicine provides direct support and oversight to 21 SOM shared resource facilities. Their purpose is to provide investigators within the Penn community access to scientific services widely required in the conduct of biomedical research but which are too costly for individual investigators or departments to bear. Oversight is provided by the School of Medicine Research Core Facilities Committee, which is led by an Associate Dean for Research Core Facilities.
