Hampton Infant School and Nursery 7 Reading Daily reading at home is the best way to help your child progress. Please encourage your child to change their reading book as often as they need to. Your child will read regularly to an adult. When we feel that they are ready to progress we will record this in their reading diaries. We really appreciate your comments and check them regularly. Bug Club

Hampton Infant School and Nursery 11 Recent visits & workshops have included: RHS Wisley Gardens Florence Nightingale Workshop “The Twits” Creative Literacy Workshop Voluntary contributions Parents with DBS checks will be offered the opportunity to help on trips first.

Hampton Infant School and Nursery 12 PPA – Planning, Preparation and Assessment Cooking will be taught by Lynn Bima Music will be taught by Sue Quinn French will be taught by Marie Branch PSHE will be taught by Angella Thomas

Hampton Infant School and Nursery 13 Assessment Teacher assessment is ongoing throughout the year. Part of the process is the end of Key Stage 1 assessment (formerly known as SATS). We aim to integrate this into the curriculum and make it as stress free as possible.

Hampton Infant School and Nursery 14 Transition An exciting time! Lots of opportunites to visit Hampton Juniors and meet the teachers. Chances to ask any questions and talk through any concerns.

Hampton Infant School and Nursery 15 How else can you help us? We really appreciate your support with spelling. As in Reception and Year 1, your child will be given individual targets at parents evening. Further information about our topics can be found on the Year 2 page of the school website. A weekend trip to a local exhibition or activity centre can be a brilliant way to stimulate your child’s learning and interest. If you have expertise or experience in a particular area we would love to hear from you.
